Love the Land

CPAWS-NWT’s fourth annual Love the Land Photo Contest is now complete, winning photos have been selected, and the 2016 Love the Land Calendar is in production!

Loving the land is the heart of CPAWS-NWT’s work. Once again this year, we invited you to share YOUR love of the land through our fourth annual Photo Contest.

From nearly 200 amazing images submitted by photographers from across the NWT and Canada, our panel of judges selected the 24 images they felt best demonstrate love of our NWT lands and waters (judges selected winners without knowing who the photographer was). Twelve winning photos were used as main calendar pages, and twelve as smaller inset images. As in previous years, main images are accompanied by a brief personal narrative written by the photographer.

We will be awarding fantastic prizes from NWT businesses to each winner at our Holiday Open House on December 3rd, 2015 - please join us to celebrate!

Each year, proceeds from our Love the Land calendar directly support our conservation work here in the NWT. Many thanks to everyone who has submitted their photos and has otherwise contributed to creating this beautiful calendar for the past three years. We are excited to share another spectacular Love the Land Calendar for 2016, which is now available for purchase at the Yellowknife BookCellar, or by clicking the PayPal link below.

Huge thanks to our 2015 sponsors, who donated prizes for photographers, and special thanks to Kopykat North for printing and the Yellowknife BookCellar for retailing calendars!

What CPAWS is doing

Love the Land began because we wanted to create a way for people to share and celebrate our collective love of the land.

Participating in our annual Photo Contest is a great way to get involved, and you can also:

  • Donate to CPAWS-NWT to support this campaign and our other NWT initiatives that encourage respectful stewardship of the land, water and wildlife of the NWT.
